key details you need to know:
Kresston is situated at the intersection of Highway 249 and FM 1486. The initial phase involves the construction of roads and residential neighborhoods. Virgil Yoakum, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Kresston, provided this update.
The master plan for Kresston includes approximately 3,600 homes and features:
- A mixed-use residential lifestyle.
- Retail commercial space.
- Several amenities yet to be announced.
- An on-site Magnolia ISD school.
Additionally, there will be retail stores, restaurants, and other conveniences along approximately one mile of frontage along Highway 249 and FM 1486, as stated in the press release.
The Kresston development is named after Larry Johnson, the founder of Johnson Development, who passed away in January 2022 according to previous reports. Larry Johnson grew up in Kress, a small town in Swisher County.
Notable quote
“Our goal is to evoke a small-town atmosphere in Kresston, but that doesn’t mean residents will be far from the shopping, entertainment and employment opportunities found in more metropolitan areas,” Yoakum said in a news release. “The Aggie Expressway will make it convenient for residents to travel by car to The Woodlands, Houston, Tomball and even College Station for those who work at Texas A&M”
What comes after this?
The lots will be assigned to builders at the end of 2024 and home sales are expected to begin in early 2025, according to the statement given by them.
